Anna Glukhova

is a trilingual speech-language pathologist whose credentials have been recognized in Russia, the USA, and Germany.

After graduating from the Russian State Pedagogical University with a degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1996 Anna worked as a pediatric speech therapist in an elementary school in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

In 2003 she was invited to work in New York within an early intervention program serving young children from bilingual families. This was an exciting opportunity as Anna has always been interested in bilingual language development.

In 2009 Anna graduated from California State University in Fullerton with a Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then worked in several hospitals in Los Angeles serving individuals from various cultural-linguistic backgrounds and of varying ages. This was the beginning of a new chapter of her life, as from that point on, a particular passion for working with adults with communication, swallowing, and voice disorders ignited.

After moving to Germany and receiving her specialty recognition and certification as a “staatliche anerkannte Logopädin”, Anna decided to offer her very own speech-therapy and swallowing practice.

Anna’s practice specializes on comprehensive evaluation and treatment of adult individuals with different neurogenic speech and language impairments (e.g., aphasia, dysarthria), swallowing disorders and voice problems. In her clinical work, Anna uses evidence-based practice that incorporates principles of neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to form new neural connections throughout life, even after the brain tissues were damaged, as is the case in patients recovering from a stroke). Anna believes that speech therapy should be functional; meaningful; and personalized to the individual’s needs, preferences and experiences.  Anna also highly values and encourages family involvement in the treatment process.

Anna follows the latest research and attends workshops and conferences to continue expanding her knowledge and skills of stroke rehabilitation, dysphagia, aphasia and voice.

In her spare time, Anna enjoys travelling, spending time with her friends and family and playing tennis with her husband and two sons.
